Our recent NAR GREEN Designation class got together and came up with a list of things we can all do to become more GREEN and reduce our energy bills. They will use these tips to help educate their clients and build stronger business relationships. Here are their “GREEN in your pocket” ideas:
- Sherri Jackson thinks “We should begin by replacing the bulbs in our homes with CFL’s.”
- Tony Ray Baker thinks “We should unplug the chargers and other electrical devices that draw energy even when we are not using them.”
- Barrie Herr thinks “We should increase our awareness and change our mindset from ‘it just doesn’t matter’ to ‘we can make a difference’.”
- Joan Caruso thinks “We should go to the TEP website and sign up for the off peak hour discount on our electric bills.”
- Janet Anderson thinks “We should install motion sensors on outdoor lighting.”
- Dyann Miller thinks “We should install low water usage shower heads to decrease our water bills.”
- JC Melvin thinks “We should install timers on our pool circulation pumps.”
- Lonnie Workman thinks “We should install solar landscaping lights that operate on their own power.”
- Lucy Kraft thinks “We should consciously choose our landscaping and practice shading on the more exposed sides of the home.”
- John Librera thinks “We should practice water harvesting and engage more in xeriscaping our homes.”
- Patricia Melton thinks “We should install daylight sensors on outdoor and landscaping lighting.”
Imagine if we all just did a little bit. What a difference we could make and we each get to benefit from the savings of lower utility bills. Listen to the experience these students had in the ‘NEW’ NAR GREEN Course by watching their testimonials.
