If you thought the Senior Real Estate Specialist® designation was about helping
old people in retirement homes, you couldn’t be more wrong. It’s about learning to
cater to the needs of the baby boomer generation. People born between 1946 and 1964
are currently retiring at a rate of 10,000 per day. Their needs and demands of real
estate professionals are changing as they redefine retirement.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 7,900 people will turn 60 every
single day this year. In addition, real estate is the largest single asset class
held by households that are headed by someone who is 65 or older.
