How to Become a SRS

SRS Designation Requirements:  (Effective January 1, 2015)

All requirements must be completed within two (2) years of taking the SRS Course or the applicant must re-take the Course.  Only REALTORS® who meet all of these requirements and have been officially awarded the SRS designation are permitted to call themselves an SRS and use the SRS credential, emblem and/or logo.
  1. Successful completion of the Seller Representative Specialist (SRS) Designation Course.  Seller Representative Specialist Logo
  2. Successful completion of one SRS elective course.
  3. The elective course may be taken prior to completing the SRS Designation Course.

  5. Complete and return the “Transaction Verification Form” along with documentation verifying five (5) completed transactions in which you acted solely as a seller representative (no dual agency).  Any transactions closed two years prior to or after taking the SRS Designation Course are eligible for credit.  The following is the required documentation for each of your five (5) completed transactions:
  6. Copy of the signed seller agency agreement or listing agreement.  The contract must verify the agent’s name and/or include the agent’s signature as the seller’s agent.  Providing only the name and/or signature of the seller’s agent’s broker is not sufficient.
  7. Copy of the closing/settlement statement or letter from your broker verifying that each transaction closed or MLS sold property tear sheet verifying the sold property (you may redact identifying information such as property address, buyer & seller information, etc.)
  8. Maintain active membership status as an SRS and with the National Association of REALTORS®.  Exception:  international members of SRS do not have to be members of NAR.
  9. Annual dues to maintain your SRS designation are $99. Your first year’s membership dues are complimentary. Membership dues are payable on the anniversary of your designation date each year after your first year. You must also continue to be a REALTOR® or REALTOR®-Associate and maintain that membership in your local, state and national association of REALTORS®.

The “Frozen Faced” & The Country’s First ABR®. As a Single Agency Practitioner for the past quarter of a century and the original co-author of the Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR) course, Curtis is well versed in representing Sellers as well as Buyer’s. NAR’s newest Designation, the Seller’s Representative Specialist (SRS) is the twin sister to the popular ABR course. In 1994, Hogan School was the first in Arizona to offer the ABR will again, be one of the first in the nation to offer the SRS. Curtis has sat on more than twelve local REALTOR Association and NAR committees and was awarded REALTOR of the Year by his local Association. As a participant on several Professional Standards committees and with his expertise in all aspects of risk management, Curtis is called upon frequently by the legal community as an expert witness. Curtis is the Designated Broker for “Single Agency Realty Associates”, a single agency practitioner, in Tempe, Arizona.

Important Reminders

  • There is a 5 minute late rule. If you are more than 5 minutes late to class, you will not receive credit for attending the course. No exceptions.
  • You must check in with the front desk prior to entering the classroom.
  • You must sign in on the Class Attendance roster prior to the beginning of the course.
