Broker Price Opinions (BPOs)

Over 10 MILLION Broker Price Opinions (BPOs) are performed annually according to industry estimates. Knowing how to perform BPOs creates multiple opportunities for professional growth and income.

This new program focuses on BPOs and the roll of agents in the valuation process. This course is specifically designed to help residential real estate agents and brokers enhance their skills in creating BPOs, reducing risk and applying alternative valuation methods.

At the conclusion of the course you will be able to prepare accurate and professional BPOS. Evaluate market valuation tools for the most productive preparation of professional and accurate BPOs, and identify and weigh all significant factors influencing the creation of a useful valuation.

Lean how to:

  • prepare professional BPOs
  • evaluate market valuation tools
  • identify and weigh factors influencing value

BPO Resource Certification

This class also offers you the option of earning NAR's new certification, BPOR (BPO Resource).

To obtain this certification there is a minimum 2 1/2 license requirement and an E&O policy (either through the individual or the broker) that meets the following criteria: a) minimum coverage of $250k per incident and $500k aggregate maximum, or b) applicable state mandated minimum coverage, if higher. If you meet those requirements then you must:

  • complete the one-day BPO course, then apply and pay the $199 fee for the BPOR certification directly online at www.BPOR.org. You must enter your email and NRDS number during application.
  • view the free one-hour webinar after applying online.
  • be in good standing with NAR

Upon completion of the webinar, you will be automatically notified that you have been approved as a BPOR. Approved BPOR members will be able to download their BPOR certificate and logos. BPOR members will be contacted via phone from the BPO provider within 2 weeks of approval to complete their enrollment on the provider panel.

One great new feature at www.BPOR.org is a count of all BPO orders available by state and region, which can be found under the BPOR Benefits tab or under Find Orders Near You section on the home page.
